Refund Policy
Last updated: October 9, 2026
We want to be straightforward about refunds. The basic principle is simple: if we haven’t started the work yet, you can have your money back. Once we’ve done the work, the refund depends on exactly what was done.
1. Before SS-4 submission
If you’ve paid for a package but we have not yet submitted your SS-4 to the IRS, you can request a full refund at any time. Email support@einnumber.io with your order reference and we will process the refund within 5–10 business days.
2. After SS-4 submission
Once we have submitted your SS-4 to the IRS, the core preparation and filing work is complete. At this stage, fees are no longer refundable. However:
- If the IRS does not assign your EIN, we will prepare and resubmit your SS-4at no additional charge.
- If the IRS requests additional information that we can supply on your behalf, we will do so as part of the original engagement.
- If your EIN is assigned and you then discover an error in the information you provided to us (e.g. a misspelled name), we will prepare a correction filing at a discounted rate.
3. Banking Readiness and other add-ons
For packages that include post-EIN services (e.g. Banking Readiness), the refundable portion depends on what has been delivered:
- If the EIN has not yet been delivered, you can refund the post-EIN service portion.
- If the EIN has been delivered and we have already started banking-readiness work, that portion is non-refundable.
- Follow-up letters for delayed applications are billed only after we send them — if you cancel before we draft the letter, no fees apply.
4. Situations where we offer goodwill refunds
In rare circumstances, even outside our standard policy, we may offer a partial or full goodwill refund. Examples:
- Our work fell materially below professional standards.
- A change in IRS policy made the service we provided ineffective.
- We failed to communicate critical updates in a timely manner.
Goodwill refunds are at our sole discretion and are not a right granted by these Terms.
5. Situations where refunds are not available
The following do not qualify for refunds:
- IRS processing delays beyond our control (IRS processing times are set by the IRS, not by us).
- Application rejection due to inaccurate information you provided.
- Changes to your business situation that make the EIN no longer needed.
- Bank or platform rejections of your EIN that are unrelated to our work (e.g. industry restrictions, sanctioned-country residence, KYC issues outside the scope of our service).
- Refunds requested more than 90 days after we submitted your SS-4.
6. Refund process
To request a refund:
- Email support@einnumber.io with your order reference number and the reason for the request.
- We will review and respond within 2 business days, either approving the refund, requesting additional information, or explaining why it doesn’t qualify under this policy.
- Approved refunds are issued through PayPal to the account or card you paid with, within 5–10 business days. PayPal decides how quickly a refund reaches a card or bank account.
7. Chargebacks
If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer without first contacting us, we lose the ability to resolve the issue directly with you. Please contact us before initiating a chargeback — we will work with you to find a fair resolution.
